Institute of agrotechnology

In 1963, on the basis of the West Kazakhstan Agricultural Institute, the agroeconomic faculty was created, headed by Associate Professor R.Kh. Myasoutov.
Since 1966, due to the increase in the number of agricultural specialties, the Faculty of Agronomy was created.
Deans-associate professors V.N. Slesarev, V.P. Sogurenko, V.F. Ryaboshkapov, N.V. Savvina, A.Ya. Bakaldin, who graduated from the well-known Russian universities in Saratov, Volgograd, Orenburg. The veterans were replaced by graduates of the faculty – associate professors Kh.Kh.Kusainov, V.V. Vyurkov, S.S.Dzhubatyrova, M.A.Gabdulov. They consistently and purposefully continued the work of their teachers and solved new problems in the context of the transition to various forms of ownership in the agrarian sector of the republic and the introduction of new modern education systems into the educational process.
In connection with the expansion of the list of specialties, the faculty was renamed into the Faculty of Agribusiness and Ecology in 1999 and from 2000 to 2002 was part of the Engineering and Technical Institute of West Kazakhstan State University.
In connection with the opening of new specialties and an increase in the number of students, the Faculty of Agronomy in 2000 was renamed the Faculty of Agribusiness and Ecology.
Since 2000, candidate of agricultural sciences, associate professor M.A. Gabdulov became the dean of the faculty of “Agribusiness and ecology” of West Kazakhstan State University.
In 2009, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Agrobiotechnology was reformed into two independent faculties: Agronomic and Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology. The Faculty of Agronomy was headed by S.Zh. Rakhimgalieva.
In 2015-2017, the faculty was headed by Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Tulegenova D.K.
In 2017-2019, the faculty was headed by the candidate of agricultural sciences A.S. Tlepov.
Since 2019 the faculty has been transformed into an agro-technological institute, headed by the candidate of technical sciences, director of the institute M.K. Onaev.
Today the institute trains bachelors in 11 specialties, masters in 5 specialties.
The institute has 977 full-time students, of whom 870 are studying under a state educational grant.
The institute employs 51 teachers. Of these, 2 doctors of sciences, 24 candidates of sciences and PhDs, 24 masters. High scientific and pedagogical qualifications of teachers are a tradition for the institute.
